Cinnamon French Toast Sticks Recipe

Called both “Poor Knight’s Pudding” and “Pain Perdu” (‘lost bread’ in French), French toast has a long history as a family-favorite. The recipe dates back to the 16th Century! In honor of National French Toast Day on November 28, we are offering our own take on French toast, made from our Cinnamon Crazy Bread® Kit. It’s so easy to whip up and a great dish to serve to your family this November…or any month!

Made from our Cinnamon Crazy Bread® Kit

INGREDIENTS:
1 Crazy Bread Crust

3 Eggs
3 Tablespoon Milk
2 Cinnamon/ Sugar Mix Packets
Powdered Sugar
Syrup

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C). Beat eggs and milk together in a medium-size bowl or shallow baking pan. (Try adding 1tsp. Vanilla Extract or 1 tsp. Nutmeg to the mixture for even more flavor!). Empty the two packets of Cinnamon/Sugar Mix into a shallow bowl or plate. Cut bread sticks into individual pieces. Evenly coat each breadstick with the egg mixture. Roll evenly coated bread stick into Cinnamon/Sugar Mix and place on a baking sheet. (Lining baking sheet with parchment paper or applying a non-stick spray will make clean up easier.) Continue until all bread sticks are covered with both the egg mixture and Cinnamon/Sugar Mix. Bake at 350°F (176°C) for 10-14 minutes. Carefully remove from oven, place on serving dish and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with syrup or your favorite fruit sauce. Enjoy!
